Just shortly after midnight on Sept. 5, Delta Flight 1057 from Las Vegas to New York-JFK declared an emergency due to an issue with one of the engines after taking off from McCarran International Airport.

It turns out that a fire erupted in one of the plane's engines and smoke could be seen coming from it. The plane wasn't in the air for even half an hour before it was forced to return to Las Vegas, where it landed safely.

Delta made arrangements for the 192 passengers on board of the flight to board another airplane this morning.
