LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — When Monroe Turner picks up other people's trash, he leaves them with a treasure -- his voice.

"It's just an amazing feeling with the reaction of people," said Turner. "Some I sing to, they cry. Some don't believe that I just did. It's a beautiful feeling."

Turner has been a sanitation worker with Republic Services for more than 23 years. A lifelong singer, Turner said he did a few talent shows when he was young but often found himself too shy to perform in public. But over the last six years, he's found a traveling stage -- singing for the people along his Henderson route.

"They treat me like I'm a person, not a worker," Turner said. "Some of them I have a good relationship with and I love them. They're like family to me."

Turner said over the last couple months he's unexpectedly ended up in the spotlight when a couple locals decided to share their love for Turner on social media.

"They say when you look for things you can't find it but if you don't want it, it comes and grabs you. That's the way God is, I guess," he said.

Turner said the only way he knows how to show his gratitude for the love and support he's received is to keep singing. Turner is humble, kind and generous with his talent, making Las Vegas a better place along the way. That's why he is our Vegas Stronger Champion.
