At a watch party held at Topgolf Las Vegas Wednesday night, it's safe to say everyone in the room is a fan and devoted to the home team.

But not everyone can say their fandom has deepened their devotion to their friends.

Ryan Hathcock said that is exactly what happened to him, his wife Carla and their work friends.

"We started having watch parties at the house," said Hathcock. "It was still nice out so we were having backyard parties watching games. This brought a lot of fun and recreation out for all our friends."

Now this couple and their coworkers are more frequently connected at the drop of the puck.

"We're all on this little group text. It's the Golden Knights group," said Carla Hathcock. "And it's kind of fun because if one of us is not here we are all cheering no matter where we are."

It turned the homebodies into hockey hobnobbers.

"Especially because of the Golden Knights. We used to stay home and watch it on TV, but because of the arena and things like this we go out," Rob said.

"It's Vegas born and we couldn't be more proud of it. And it just makes our bond that much more sports oriented," Carla said.
