LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire thousands of temporary workers in Nevada ahead of the 2020 Census.
The census is much more than just a head count. It's a mechanism used to determine how federal funds are shared among each state.
The census carefully takes a look at population growth and will regulate how many dollars each state gets for resources like senior living, schools, loans and disability programs.
The survey is also vital in choosing how congressional seats are divided. The calculation is based on total resident population. The census is also critical for new businesses.
With Nevada becoming one of the fastest growing cities it's extremely important to have an accurate census count.
The jobs here are temporary and the pay starts at $16.50 a hour. You can find a list of 2020 job opportunities here.
