Nye County deputies, detectives, and other agencies including the DEA worked together to eliminate a large outdoor marijuana grow operation in northern Nye County, according to authorities.
Nye County Sergeant Adam Tippetts said the team began working a tip and investigated the grow operation for several weeks in Peavine Canyon near Round Mountain.
During a raid on Sept. 13, nearly 9,000 plants were recovered as well as 500 pounds of finished and packaged product.
The confiscated items had a street value estimated at well over $20 million dollars. Making this the largest drug bust in Nye County history, according to Sergeant Tippetts.
Jordan Torres, Jose Mendez-Ayala and Eustacio Piedra-Robledo were taken into police custody in connection with the illegal grow operation.
