Donations have gone missing from a local charity's donation box and the thieves were caught on camera.

Nichol Zamora is the director of the Peoples Autism Foundation. Donations for the non-profit organization are collected in a metal bin near Tire Works Total Car Care on Cactus and Decatur.

"It helps me provide school supplies for the families and it also helps me provide personal one-on-one services," Zamora said.

Yesterday afternoon, Zamora got a call that thieves were taking advantage of the donation bin. A witness captured photos.

"He was climbing in the bin, grabbing the bags, and giving them to the woman to put it into her car," Zamora said.

Zamora said this isn't the first time the foundation's dealt with thefts from donation bins around the city.

"We want to continue helping these children so just leave the donations there. There's no reason to dig inside of them and steal them," she said.

She encourages people to call the foundation for a free pick-up as opposed to using the donation bins if they feel unsafe about leaving their belongings behind.

The thieves have not been arrested by police.
