A Henderson Montessori school is missing more than a dozen computers after burglars ransacked the school.

Staff from Silver Sands Montessori Charter School in Henderson canceled school after returning from spring break to find the school burglarized.

The thieves cleaned out a computer lab, taking 14 Mac computers, laptops, TVs and even school checks.

"Definitely someone broke in and it's our home away from home, so it felt horrendous," said Principal Denise Crosby.

The school believes the burglars entered the building through an upstairs door over the weekend.

"Montessori definitely promotes peace, diversity and cooperation, so it cuts to the very bone of what we're definitely against," Crosby said.

Now, staff are wondering how they will replace the technology that was originally bought with grant money from the state.

"Our budget is limited as a charter school and it's hard. We'll have to be saving and working into it for next year," said Marlo Tsuchiyama, head of school at Silver Sands Montessori.

Students were expected to begin state testing on the stolen computers this week.

Henderson Police are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.

The school has set up a GoFundMe page to help buy new equipment.
