On Tuesday, Rosie's Wish CDC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports low income children and teens diagnosed with type two diabetes, hosted a Thanksgiving basket giveaway for families in need.

Pat Larson and her family were among close to a hundred families who lined up to get their hands on a Thanksgiving basket.

"What this program does for the families and the community, is it cares," said Larson.

Larson said for her family events like this are invaluable because it helps eliminates stress.

"You always think you can provide for your own and when you can't someone steps in and helps. It makes you all feel better, I'm just grateful someone can pick up the pieces," Larson said.

North Las Vegas City Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown helped spearhead a food drive for the event and Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers Association also contributed to the 2nd annual event.
