LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A recent study revealed more than half of people who use pools are substituting them for taking a shower.
The Water Quality and Health Council released its findings with 51 percent of the participants admitting to doing so.
An environmental health specialist says pool chemicals do not eliminate the need to shower before diving into a pool.
Experts say when dirt and sweat react with chlorine, it makes the chemical less effective against germs.
And rinsing off for just one minute before stepping in the pool could remove most of the dirt and sweat on your body.
