LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — When it comes to taking a break and enjoying a nice vacation, it appears people in Nevada do not need to travel too far from home.

According to a newly-released study from Porch, Nevada ranks second in the nation for states with the most #staycation hashtags on social media.

Porch analyzed thousands of Instagram posts that included the #staycation hashtag to learn more about how people in each state enjoy their leisure time locally, and which cities offer attractions that keep residents close to home.

Hawaii took the top spot in the state rankings. Nevada came in second with posts ranging from the Las Vegas Strip to Death Valley. According to the study, warm temperatures were a common element among popular #staycation states, with California and Florida also in the top-five spots.

Las Vegas ranks eighth on the list of cities in the nation using the #staycation hashtag. Some other notable hashtags unique to the location included #casino, #party and #desert.
