Students are finding ways to fix Boulder Highway.

Nevada high schooler students just finished a two-week camp at UNLV. The whole thing was focused on making Boulder Highway safer.

To solve the problem, they took field trips and spoke with experts. There were six teams and each came up with a plan to present to a panel of judges Monday, including people from the Nevada Department of Transportation.

"We were able to combine all our ideas into one that we're all really proud of and one that we all agree with," said Denise Castle, one of the participants.

The program has been held at UNLV for several years.
