Parents and students were told just days in advance that a beloved band director from Arbor View High School would be leaving.
Students responded by protesting in front of the high school on Monday. They say the band director had been growing the band for years and making them competitive.
The Clark County School District says that the director has not been fired but has been reassigned, meaning that he can still teach music. However, the school made it clear he will not lead the band anymore. They have not given a reason why.
Students and parents formed a Facebook group to keep the band director. More than 100 people have joined the group so far.
