Walker Furniture continued their Home for the Holidays program Friday. Their annual furniture giveaway helps 30 families in need.

One North Las Vegas grandmother was chosen out of more 1,000 nominations.

Earlier this year, Debra Holt's daughter was killed in a car crash. Two of her three daughters have now passed away.

"It's been a tough year," says Holt.

Since then, she's been taking care of her grandchildren in an empty apartment, even sleeping on the floor.

On Friday, that all changed. Holt became one of 30 families given a home full of furniture by Walker Furniture, just in time for Christmas.

"I'm grateful, what more can I say?" Holt says. "I'm grateful."

Holt was not the only one to receive some new furniture Friday.

The De La Hoya family has had a few challenging years after the mother's lupus has progressed. The 15-year-old works to help support everyone.

The teen said she wished she could give her mom a place to relax other than a folding chair, along with a family dinner table where they could all gather together. They got both, thanks to Walker Furniture.
