A man was taken to the Henderson Detention Center after a brief standoff with police on Thursday evening at an apartment complex on Boulder Highway and Galleria Drive.
Around 6:15 p.m. police received a phone call about a husband and wife fighting in their apartment. The husband left the apartment with a rifle, and the wife went to a neighbor's residence to call 9-1-1.
The husband returned to the apartment with a rifle while the wife was out. Two children were still inside. Police arrived at the scene and were able to convince the husband to let the children out of the building.
After a brief standoff, the husband surrendered to police at 7 p.m. There was a scuffle as he resisted arrest, but the husband was apprehended and taken to the Henderson Detention Center.
