Smith's plans to open a dry-good distribution center in Henderson, generating about 270 jobs.

The grocer will lease the new facility from Panattoni Development, the entity that developed the site. It will be located at 1775 Executive Airport Drive, off St. Rose Parkway.

Smith’s will move forward with completion of the project due to the tax incentives approved by the Board of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. It's projected to open in September 2018.

The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance has been working with the Smith’s team for the past year with the application of incentives, as well as the site selection process and connecting it with the City of Henderson.

This is the first food distribution center for Smith’s located in the state of Nevada with a projection to provide nearly 270 new jobs.

The new 482,000 square-foot distribution facility will provide more than 8,000 items allowing the grocer to ship products to Smith’s stores in the southwest U.S. including 44 in Nevada, 24 in New Mexico, 5 in Arizona and 3 in Utah.

In addition, the distribution center will operate as a Zero Waste facility diverting more than 90 percent of waste from the landfill.
