Florida Sen. Marco Rubio held a rally at Silverton hotel-casino Tuesday, ahead of the Nevada Republican caucuses.

So far, polls show Rubio losing to Donald Trump in Nevada, a state the senator grew up in. But Rubio said that will change as more candidates drop out.

"Once that number of people narrows down you give people a clear choice to Donald Trump," Rubio said. "Whoever that choice is is going to win and I believe that will be us, whether it's here or somewhere else."

Hundreds of people filled the ballroom, cheering as Rubio opposed President Barack Obama's plan to close Guantanamo Bay.

"Not only are we not going to close Guantanamo, when I am president, if we capture a terrorist alive they're not going to get a court hearing in Manhattan, they're not going to be sent to Nevada they are going to Guantanamo and we're going to find out everything they know," Rubio said.

He wasn't the only candidate in town as Ben Carson held a luncheon at Red Rock Country Club. Trump was holding a caucus viewing party at Treasure Island hotel-casino Tuesday night.

Ted Cruz had been in town Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, John Kasich's campaign decided to skip Nevada and focus on other states instead.
