People living on the far east side of the Las Vegas valley say one of their main roads is being used for all the wrong reasons and it's becoming a major safety hazard.

The road is Owens Avenue, near Los Feliz Boulevard, and people living nearby say drivers park illegally and then use the hill to get exercise.

"People really shouldn't be parking over here," said Robert Mansfield.

People also park on the hill because there's a great view of the Las Vegas Strip.

"It's a hazard to them and it's a hazard that I could possibly hit them," said Mansfield.

People living near Owens Avenue have been upset about the issue for years. Since the road is public, they requested no parking signs from the county. They got the signs but the problem still persists.

"It bothers me when it gets really crowded and it becomes a traffic hazard," said Don Maupin.

The issue is now an enforcement issue. So if you see illegally parked cars, call 311.
