Gov. Brian Sandoval was on a list of possible running mates Donald Trump considered but was knocked off because of his endorsement of John Kasich, the New York Times reported.
"Gov. Brian Sandoval of Nevada, who met with Trump in Las Vegas in December, seemed to have everything — charisma, Latino heritage, swing-state appeal — except that he had endorsed Kasich, a fact that Trump kept returning to, and which eventually became a disqualifier, according to a senior adviser to the campaign," The Times' Robert Draper reported last month. (How did I miss this?!)
Sandoval has been cool toward Trump, but has not withdrawn his support.
