A Las Vegas man who found what appears to be a U.S. military burial flag is trying to find its rightful owner.
Joseph Mascolino was driving near Buffalo and Russell Tuesday morning when he noticed a white box in the road.
Mascolino peeked inside and noticed what appeared to be a display case for a U.S. military burial flag. The case had been beaten up, but the flag inside was still intact.
"It's from someone's loved one and they need to have it back," Mascolino said.
Mascolino quickly posted about the flag on Facebook hoping to find the family that may have lost it.
"Maybe it's a Christmas miracle for someone," Mascolino said.
People in the community have already started sharing the photos. One person is even offering to engrave the display case for free once the owner has been identified.
