Republicans and Democrats both added about 14,000 new voters to their rolls in February as attention turned to the Nevada caucuses.

The Nevada Secretary of State's Office reported this week that Democratic registration grew to about 485,000 in February. That's about 39 percent of the state's active voter base.

Republican rolls grew slightly more than Democratic rolls to about 438,000. They account for about 36 percent of Nevada's 1.2 million active voters.

The number of nonpartisan voters dropped to about 233,000 in February and makes up about 19 percent of the state's active voter base.

Voters needed to register as a Republican or a Democrat to participate in each party's respective presidential caucus in February.
