A man is recovering Thursday night after police say he was shot in a neighborhood near Washington and Jones, specifically on the 6100 block of Castle Bay Drive.
The victim told police he was just walking down the street when all of a sudden, a guy in a car pulled up and shot at him three times before driving off.
Police say, even though it sounds random right now, they are not sure if the victim was actually targeted.
There's no suspect description but the victim said the car where the gunshots came from was light colored.
Witnesses were shocked to hear about a shooting in such a quiet neighborhood.
"It was just four pops, 'pop pop pop pop'," said Stephen Simon. "I looked through the shades and I was like oh expletive. My friend was like shut the shades shut the shades cause it's like you never know, there could be stray bullets flying around."
Police say three rounds were fired. One gunshot hit the victim. The victim is recovering from non-life threatening injuries.
