Police say a fight broke out in front of a market in northeast Vegas that sent one man to the hospital and two people on the run.

Police say it started around 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning, with a call of shots fired at a market near Walnut and Lake Mead.

According to witnesses, there was an argument between two groups of people in two cars.

"There had been some kind of an altercation between some of the individuals in some of those vehicles," said Officer Laura Meltzer, with Metropolitan Police.

Officers learned there were a man and a woman in one car, who fired on the other car, carrying two men.

Another person stepped in and also fired their gun, before the first two cars took off speeding. That was when the car carrying the man and the woman crashed into the Car carrying Hilda Barragan's dad.

"I'm nervous," Barragan said at the scene of the crash. "I want to go see him. I want to make sure he's fine. I want to hug him and be with him."

As for the car with the two men inside:

"Officers did locate, with the assistance of our air unit, two subjects who were walking in the wash that is a little bit southwest of that area," said Meltzer.

One man was detained, the other was taken to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening wounds.

The man and woman from the first car are still at large.
