An elderly woman is dead after an accident on Friday.

It happened around 10 a.m. in a neighborhood near Owens Avenue and Mt. Hood Street.

Investigators say a male driver was backing up out of garage. He somehow ended up driving forward instead, hitting his wife. As a result, she was crushed between the car and the wall. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say it appears to be an unfortunate accident, not intentional. The male driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The driver is 87-years-old. His wife was identified as 81-year-old Amphom Kreger.

The man told 13 Action News that he and his wife had been together for 33 years. He described her as sweet and nice all the time. Neighbors told 13 Action News the same thing.
