Thousands of people gathered at The Crossing Church in southwest Las Vegas Wednesday night to remember and honor the victims of Sunday night's mass shooting on the Strip. Senior Pastor Shane Philip said he hoped to bring hope and healing to a community that is hurting. Candles were lit for each of the 58 victims. People gathered in the courtyard as a band played inspirational music. They said they came to pray together and to find perspective together.

"We're going to push back the darkness, this evil that has come into our city," Philip said. "We're going to push that back and we are going to be the dispensers of good. And we are going to take care of people and love people."

Dawn Box said she was just encouraged by seeing so many people all in one place.

"It was beautiful just to see everyone come together and to be able to heal together. It's just so important to do that after something like this."

Philip said he realizes the process of healing will be a lengthy one for many people in the community and even acknowledged that some people may never fully heal emotionally from the trauma.
