Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Arizona responded to a downed airplane on Jan. 24.
MCSO says they received a call approximately 5:45 p.m. about a plane in water in a refuge area near the Colorado River and Lake Havasu.
The Division of Boating Safety, Search and Rescue Division, and the Patrol Division responded to the area. They found 2 people hanging onto a sinking airplane.
An investigation into the incident revealed that the sea-style plane did not crash, but was trying to land. While on the water, the plane started taking on water.
The passengers were taking to Windsor State park for evaluation. No major injuries were reported.
