Concerned students and parents held a peaceful protest outside University United Methodist Church Sunday morning.
They're upset over the firing of the church's child development center director. Amy Robinson was let go in late July. She had been with the center for 25 years.
Church administrators had briefly met with parents and promised them they would talk about what led to Robinson's dismissal. But parents said administrators have since refused to talk to them.
"They're completely disconnected between what's happening with the church and the child development center," said Jenny Farrell. "They don't care about the families. They keep saying they do and they will not talk to us. They're ignoring us."
The families say they plan to continue protesting until church administrators agree to speak with them.
