The pandemic shutdowns and closures is making it difficult to hold blood drives in our valley, and the demand for blood donations is up 25%.

That's according to organizers of a blood drive Sunday.

Brittany McLemore, the Communications Manager of Vitalant said "It's more of an important time than ever to donate blood. With the impact of COVID-19, we've had to cancel of 13-hundred blood drives. That has resulted in the loss of over 27,000 donations."

Today, you have another chance to help save lives in our valley.

The Red Cross is holding a blood drive at the Fashion Show mall from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
