UPDATE 2 P.M. OCT. 5: Clark County School District released a statement about the incident. 

“Clark County School District (CCSD) officials and administrators are reviewing the circumstances involving a Cheyenne High School student that staff were working to locate on Thursday, Oct. 4, shortly before school was dismissed for the day.

When staff were unable to locate the student on and around campus, all necessary contacts were made to include law enforcement.
 
CCSD would like to thank all of those who were involved in the effort to locate the student.” 

UPDATE 12:40 P.M. OCT. 5: North Las Vegas police said the teen was found near McCarran International Airport by his father, who received a tip on social media.

Police said Vincenzo Paradiso walked the whole way from Cheyenne High School to the airport as his shoes were torn up from walking. Police do not know where he was going but he does have relatives in the greater area.

UPDATE 5 A.M. OCT. 5: The teenager's mother tells 13 Action News she did not find out her son was missing for nearly five hours.  

"The school police called to ask if he had been located, and I did not know he was missing," says Stephanie Paradiso.  

She says the school then told her he went missing around noon during a transitional period. She says she didn't find out until around 5 p.m. 

13 Action News has reached out to CCSD for comment.  

UPDATE 4:30 A.M. OCT. 5: Las Vegas police says 16-year-old Vincenzo Paradiso was safely located early Friday morning, about 15 miles away near McCarran Airport. 

ORIGINAL STORY: The North Las Vegas Police Department is searching for a missing teenager last seen at Cheyenne High School.

Officers reported 16-year-old Vincenzo Paradiso missing from North Las Vegas on Thursday.

Authorities said he was last seen at about noon by staff at Cheyenne High School.

Paradiso is an autistic teen who needs medication regularly with severe asthma, according to police, and he is overdue for his medicine.

The 16-year-old was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black shorts with a black backpack.
