Some North Las Vegas parents reached out to us concerned for their kids' safety. They say the crosswalks in front of some schools are completely faded.

The two crosswalks that are causing concern are in front of Legacy High School and Don E. Hayden Elementary School.

13 Action News talked to students before school. They say they see people stepping out into the middle of the street, assuming traffic will stop just because they're in a crosswalk. However, since the lines are so faded, they tell us they can become practically invisible when you're in a car.

"A lot of accidents have almost happened," says one Legacy High School student. "It worries me."

Students hope the city is able to do something about it.

"A crossing guard would be great, honestly," says another Legacy High School student.

13 Action News reached out to the city of North Las Vegas. They tell us they put a request into the Public Works department. It's still not clear how soon the crosswalks could be repainted.
