The City of North Las Vegas says they are going to allow a huge Vegas Golden Knights logo to remain on public property after one showed up at the Cheyenne Sports Complex over the weekend.

The logo is painted on the grass on the east side of the complex located near Cheyenne Avenue and Pecos Road and it features the traditional Vegas Golden Knight's logo and the phrases #VegasStrong and GO KNIGHTS GO!

"I think it's awesome," said North Las Vegas resident, Archie Cooper.

"My son noticed it first," said Cooper. "I thought it was graffiti at first, but then I looked and it's not, it's beautiful," said Cooper.

The logo has the attention of park visitors but it also has the attention of North Las Vegas city officials.

"We want people to be respectful and we don't want a free-for-all in our parks, but seeing that it is there, GO KNIGHTS GO!" said North Las Vegas spokesperson, Delen Goldberg.

Goldberg says city staff inspected the logo and have decided to let the logo stay, for now.

"Obviously, we as a city would like to be involved in projects like this. We did not know about it in advance but I would encourage people to reach out to us because we probably would make it even bigger!" said Goldberg.

North Las Vegas city officials warn vandalism, especially spray painting, on public property is a serious and costly crime.

City officials say if the artist comes forward they may be interested in a Vegas Golden Knights mural.
