The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's first class of graduate officers will be issued body-worn cameras as standard equipment will hit the streets for the first time beginning on Saturday, February 20.

The group of 62 graduate officers entering patrol throughout the week marks a unique milestone in LVMPD's history.

This is the first group of officers trained on the cameras prior to entering into patrol.

LVMPD hopes to recruit and graduate an estimated 320 officers this year—all of whom will enter patrol with body cameras.
