COVID-19 variants aren't as scary as they sound.
D. Carlos Del Rio with the Infectious Diseases Society of America says it's normal for these types of viruses to mutate.
At least one of the new variants can be transmitted easier.

That's concerning because the more people infected the more deaths we could see.
But the COVID-19 variants have not been found to make anyone sicker.
And so far the vaccines do work against COVID variants.
The best way to prevent even more mutations is to continue to wear a mask and keep social distancing.
