Initial unemployment claims in Nevada fell 17 percent in February compared to January of this year.
Analysts say the month-over-month decline is similar to the trend last year. The 12-month average declined slightly.
But February did see a nearly 20 percent rise in the amount of benefits paid. But officials said this could be due to an extra Monday in February, which might been counted in March in previous years.
