Their job is to be ready at a moment's notice, and now six members of the Nevada Army National Guard are headed to Puerto Rico.

It's been nearly a week since Hurricane Maria, and the island of about 3 million American citizens is still without power.

The team from Nevada will bring communications equipment. Essentially, they'll be able to connect the radio signals of all the different relief teams, like firefighter, search groups and paramedics.

The equipment can also help people there get in touch with family.
