Want to show your support for the desert tortoise? You can now get a desert tortoise license plate through the Nevada DMV.

The Clark County Desert Conservation Program’s license plate is now available at Nevada Department of Motor Vehicle offices across the state. Proceeds from the sale of this plate will support conservation measures of the Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan and promote public education about conservation of desert tortoises.

Proceeds from the sale of the “Desert Tortoise” license plate will also benefit the Mojave Max Education Program. The Mojave Max Education Program was created in 2000 in an effort to spread the message of conservation to children through Mojave Max assemblies and individual classroom programs that reach an average of 5,000 students per year.

The cost of the standard license plate is $62, $25 of which is used to support Desert Conservation Program conservation measures. For complete details, and to learn more about ordering a “Desert Tortoise” license plate, visit the Nevada Charitable & Collegiate Plates section of the Nevada DMV website.
