Gift cards bought in Nevada would never expire if a new bill passes.
Democratic Assemblyman William McCurdy of Las Vegas introduced the bill Tuesday.
"Banning expiration dates on gift cards protects Nevadans from being cheated out of their hard-earned wages,” he said in a statement.
Under federal law, all gift cards face an expiration date of at least five years. But the Nevada bill would completely ban expiration dates on gift cards.
