US border patrol agents on track to encounter 2M+ migrants at southern border

The U.S. could set a new record for migrants at the southern border this fiscal year.

A government projection shows U.S. border patrol agents could encounter more than two million people before Sept. 30.

But the projection is subject to change, especially if the Biden Administration modifies policies.

The last time the number of migrants at the border came even close to such a figure was 2006 when encounters topped a million.
