LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Wanna live longer?

Get a dog.

A study published in an American Heart Association Journal which encompassed 70 years of global research, found that having a dog protects you from an early death.

And it turns out to be a bigger benefit to those who have already suffered a heart attack or stroke.

Another study suggests that this may be because dogs provide companionship and affection which reduces anxiety and depression.
