A visitor at a California park made an ultra rare discovery as a football fish was found washed up on the shore at Crystal Cove State Park in Newport Beach.

It's a type of angler fish that normally lives more than 2,000 feet below the surface in dark water.

Though the fish itself is quite common, it's hardly ever found outside of that environment.
