It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for.

“We” meaning Leonardo DiCaprio, his cast and crew from “The Revenant,” and not to mention the entire Internet.

The 41-year-old actor on Sunday night finally won his first Oscar (Actor in a Leading Role), putting an end to the dragged out yet hilarious  online jokes debating if he would ever get the recognition he so deserves.
With 12 Oscar nominations this year, it was an expected – yet satisfying – win.

Social media responded accordingly.

THE LONG WAIT IS OVER

To a lengthy and loud applause from a proud audience, DiCaprio took the stage sporting a wide grin. But he used the time to highlight a topic much bigger than himself: Global warming.

"Making 'The Revenant' was about man's relationship to the natural world...climate change is real," he said. "It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating."

DiCaprio wrapped up his speech by simply stating, "I do not take this night for granted."

In another noteworthy moment from the 88th annual awards, DiCaprio and Kate Winslet -- "Titanic" co-stars -- reunited on the red carpet.
And it appears Winslet was pretty excited for Leo's win, too.
