A 24-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Tuesday.

It happened around 5:50 p.m. near Fort Apache and Spring Mountain roads.

Police say a Toyota Sienna van turned left in front of Yamaha motorcycle as it was traveling on Fort Apache Road. It appears the van did not yield at a flashing yellow light. They say the motorcycle rider didn't have much time to react.

They are still investigating, but say speed does not appear to be a factor. Police don't believe either person was impaired.

The Clark County Coroner identified the motorcyclist as 24-year-old Drew Autry of Las Vegas. He died of multiple blunt force trauma from the crash.

This was the 100th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2015.

"These are the holidays," said Sgt. Richard Strader. "We don't need to be calling people's families and telling them their loved ones are dead before Thanksgiving."
