Las Vegas is kicking off Veterans Day weekend by marrying military couples.

The Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce held a contest for veterans and active duty members. And on Friday, ten military couples got married or renewed their vows for free throughout the valley.

Carmen Collier and her husband Keith were one of ten military couples who won a free renewal of vows. They were joined by family members at Forever Grand Wedding Chapel.

In her winning video entry, carmen collier says, "Me and my husband decided to go to the court house and get married because we didn't have the time or the money to do a traditional wedding."

"I found out we won and I'm like babe we won! And he's like what are you talking about," says Carmen.

Keith became emotional during the ceremony. "I didn't mean to cry. I cried a little I think."

Keith is an active-duty navy. He was deployed shortly after their wedding in 2014. Then, they had kids and never had the chance to have a proper ceremony.

Now the couple is extremely grateful for the opportunity to celebrate their love and say their 'I Do's'

"It was stressful, a  little bit. A lot going on in a short amount of time but I think we pulled it of pretty well," says Keith.

Carmen tells 13 Action News, "This means so much to us and we're so thankful that we have this opportunity."

"This worked out much bigger  than we probably could ever figured out on our own," Keith add.
