Police are fed up with people who just can't seem to follow the most basic traffic rules.

On Tuesday, they did something about it.

Officers took to the streets near Boulder Highway to educate people about the city's roadways, and about walking near one of the busiest streets in the city.

In 2015, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has responded to 14 fatal accidents along Boulder Highway.

8 of those have been pedestrians.

Police say all of those, were pedestrian error, and the deaths could have been prevented.

Boulder Highway is notorious for jaywalkers, as people try to cut across all six lanes of traffic with cars driving by at a speed of 45 mph.

LVMPD already has officers regularly in the area performing patrols.

They say they even have done special operations along this road to cut back on jaywalking and speeding.

Officials say they are working to get more crosswalks in the area and make the ones already in place a little more visible.
