Javier Righetti appeared in court on Monday after pleading guilty to the brutal rape and murder of 15-year-old Alyssa Otremba in Sept. 2011.
The state and the defense worked on finalizing the questionnaire they'll use to select the jury panel.
The state only objected to two of those questions, one about the death penalty and if jurors would feel obligated to automatically sentence him to death.
The jury panel will appear in court on Wednesday.
