A man is on the loose after stealing a Gucci diaper bag from a resale shop on Vegas' southwest side.

Police are now investigating the case as grand larceny.

The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at "Me and Mommy to Be" near Fort Apache Road and Tropicana Avenue.

Store managers say the suspect cruised the aisles and appeared to be interested in making purchased.  He even asked one of the employees for help finding an item.

"He looked a little lost in the store, so I was just trying to help him find the exact size he was looking for," said manager Nettie Byerly.

Minutes later, he walked right to the checkout counter, grabbed a Gucci diaper bag that was sitting on top, and fled the store.

"Christy and another one of our employees yelled 'Hey! Stop,' said store owner Nathan Byerly.  “Then when I looked, I could see that the male had grabbed the Gucci diaper bag and was attempting to flee the store with it."

The surveillance video of the incident shows there was a white vehicle waiting for the suspect in front of the store.

Byerly tells Action News, "This is something they thought about. This wasn't a spur-of-the-moment type of thing, and you know what, I definitely think he should be charged."

One of the managers called 911, but LVMPD did not dispatch any officers to the scene.

Managers are hopeful that the surveillance video will lead to an arrest.
