LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Summerlin man hopes his surveillance footage will help catch the man who he says stole his car and left a different vehicle in his driveway.

Matthew Gilman says his car was stolen right out of his driveway in his quiet neighborhood Sunday morning.

“He went around the whole block, trying to unlock cars,” says Matthew.

Matthew says it all happened around 2:30 Sunday morning outside his home near Lake Mead Boulevard and Rampart.

The video shows a vehicle pull up and parking near Matthew's home.

A man then gets out and starts casing multiple cars and SUVs up and down the street.

He then comes back to Matthew’s 2011 Hyundai Sonata, climbing in the backseat and shuts the door.

He then starts the SUV, the brake lights kick on and he drives off.

“I don’t so much care about the car just the fact that someone is out there doing harm to other people.”

The bizarre part of the video shows the man leaving behind this vehicle he drove into the neighborhood with before taking Matthew’s car.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was on scene Sunday, checking out the now abandoned car.

“This guy just feels like he can come up to my house in a stolen vehicle and steal my money that I work hard for, I just want him to face the law and get what he deserves.”
