Reno police say a driver who fatally struck a woman and her unborn baby in August had a blood-alcohol level that was almost twice the legal limit and had a substance in his car that's believed to be cocaine.

Authorities say 47-year-old Christopher Gonzalez was driving on the wrong side of the road on Somersett Parkway when he hit the vehicle of 27-year-old Alisa Hardy-Orton a little before midnight on Aug. 5.

Hardy-Orton was eight months pregnant and was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her or her unborn child.

Gonzalez was also pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators said Wednesday that they found a substance in Gonzalez's vehicle that is believed to be cocaine.

Hardy-Orton was the daughter of Washoe District Court Judge David Hardy.
