A couple's domestic dispute got intense Tuesday when police say the man reportedly brought a gun to where his ex-girlfriend works.

Officers surrounded the Spanish Hills Rehabilitation Center near Rainbow Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue, closing down some of the nearby streets.

Someone called to say the man was walking through the hallways making threatening comments.

Latoya Smith lives below the couple near Lake Mead and Jones boulevards -- where the suspect was later arrested.

Smith says the couple had broken up and the suspect moved out, but he didn't leave his ex alone.

"This once-quiet area was no longer quiet," Smith said.

The conflict between her neighbors made Smith feel unsafe.

Last week, she says the man flooded the upstairs apartment. The ceiling in Smith's son's room fell to the floor.

Smith also says the man repeatedly called Spanish Hills this week to threaten his ex, and Smith saw the woman come home with a police escort.

The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and burglary.
