Employees at a pair of prisons in Nevada are worried about their safety and are asking Gov. Sisolak to come up with a solution.

Employees at Ely State Prison and High Desert State Prison raised their concerns last week.

They have placed problem areas in the prisons on lockdown because of alleged threats.

The prisons have been holding town halls with the inmates to get to the bottom of the problems and have already moved some prisoners to other facilities.

The lockdowns will remain in place until the threats against staff have stopped.

High Desert State Prison is located about 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas and Ely State Prison is located in White Pine County.
