Local residents gathering to watch pope's visit

Today, Pope Francis is headed to Congress in the nation's capital. People around the country and the world are gathering around their television sets and computer screens to watch the pope's first visit to the United States.
 
That includes a group of people here in Las Vegas.
 
Those people will be watching Pope Francis at a watch party at the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada's office space near Sahara Avenue and Rancho Drive.
 
The pope is scheduled to address Congress early Thursday morning. It will the second of the pope's four speeches that he is delivering in English. 
 
After the scheduled speech, Pope Francis will help serve lunch to the homeless community in Washington. At the same time, people at the local watch party will be serving lunch at Catholic Charities in downtown Las Vegas.
